I’ve worked in call centers for the better part of 2 decades and the answer is simple: empower your employees to hang up on abusive customers. Give them fair warning, that it’s not acceptable and if they keep going the conversation is not productive. Respect hs to go both ways.

I did telephone banking for 8 years in canada 🇨🇦 Having a supportive company policy that we are happy to help you, but abuse will not be tolerated & the call will end… I think is the best policy.

In every good customer service training (at least in Europe) they teach you that customers are not always right and you have to tell them, and also that if they start screaming, 1st you give them warnings, and if they continue, you just end the call.

When im mad at some company for some reason i always tell the customer service rep; “I am really mad about the situation i an in, but im not going to reflect it on you, i just want you to remember im mad. “ and thrn i calmly and respectfully have a conversation, my experience is that most issues get solved without needing to have any disrespect, works like a charm! 🍀👍💯

the customer service is the representetive for the company. if the company is not behaving as they should, scaming people, or making customers rights difficult, than you habe the right to be mad, no? the person in customer support chose to work for that company. i dont really understand the problem of them having to dwal with upset people. (obviously im not saying they should be insulted as an individual but yk... )where else can the customers voice their frustration?

I can’t understand people who are rude to customer service people. I make a point to be as polite as possible, and CS reps are often so pleasantly surprised that they just give me whatever I want. 😅 It’s easy to be nice, and being rude rarely pays off. 🤷🏻‍♀

This is absolutely brilliant! This humanizes the customer service reps and probably even calms down the clients that might be angry or upset with the service. It really puts everything into perspective in such a short amount of time! I love this concept!
