I’ve dropped hints every now and then that I’m gay but my parents are lowkey homophobic so I’ve pretty much kept in quiet. But in a last ditch effort I tried* talking to my mom about how isolating it is being like me and how I’m not able to join in on conversations and people feel uncomfortable around me cause of it…..she kept trying to tell me I don’t have it bad. Like because she isn’t disowning me that makes her being homophobic any better. But the worst part was that she had the nerve to tell me this “but promise me Juliet that you’ll stay open. You never know because there are plenty of guys and you don’t HAVE to date only women in or women at all. And when I told her about the discrimination I’ve faced and how much it hurt as well as all the things I’ll miss out on because of being this way she said I should ‘give people some grace’ and that she ‘can’t really blame them’ and also that ‘this is just growing pains’. 💔

This just happened to my sister. She mustered up the courage to tell my mom and dad knowing that they were gonna shame her. Before she went to tell them she came and hugged me and was crying.

I try to make them less homophobic so if I do tell them I like boys I won't get kicked in the head but all they see me as is to carry the family's name so I just beg everyday for my life to stop

even simple things like the things I wear is a big NO² for her, and even the way I walked, the fact that they don't care about you they just care about not being embarrassed not knowing It hurts me a lot , Maybe if I leave this world maybe they will understand but maybe it is too late.
