It’s all been such a shitshow, but I’m glad we were able to push back. So much rhetoric that gets thrown around on my feed is so fatalistic as though we have no agency here, but we absolutely do.

I found some chatter that it was about NextStar, that owns a bunch of ABC resources, is trying to complete a merger (to own more and carve out another monopoly). Supposedly, it’s less about the feds suppressing speech, and more the network stroking the pres’s ego by temporarily booting Kimmel. They probably planned to re-hire him after the merger. If that’s true, it’s still incredibly bad news
