“Hikaru” is a physical embodiment of Yoshiki’s queerness. “Hikaru” started his journey ‘innocent’ and ‘free’ of self judgment, just being in a way his ‘genuine self’. But as the series goes on, Yoshiki becomes “Hikaru”’s ‘self doubt’ and ‘negativity’ towards hisself (which you can also see as ‘societal norms’). This is the episode where “Hikaru” gives up because he sees how just being himself will harm Yoshiki. He finally sees himself as a monster and not “having anywhere to belong”. Him not wanting to be alone is Yoshiki losing the real Hikaru and not wanting to be ‘monsterous’ and ‘alone’.😭 Just like how the stabbing episode is Yoshiki trying to ‘kill’ the queer feelings inside himself, but “Hikaru” just wants to “live”.
