As a vet tech, I can say it’s a really valid question. Cats can not substain a long time on dog food - they need extra taurine and some other minerals that are added to cat food. If your cat was vomiting and not acting well, then it could be a real concern

It could be an issue if you have a boy cat. Dog food has more sodium in it and when my cat was a year and a half old he ate a lot of the dog food and then ended up having urinary crystals and needed surgery. He's doing great 12 years later

Tbh I’m sure they’re glad to get a call like that bc there are people who will bring their dogs in for an emergency that’s obviously suffering for a week and they claim it just happened today…
