Dean had to be a soldier, a mother, and a father, all because of John’s expectations and said in one episode when Sam started asking questions about why they had to move around so much “i didn’t tell you because, i just wanted you to be a kid, just for a little longer.” and that’s what PARENTS say. that’s a parent. He sold his soul just to save his LIFE, something John did for Dean (and this just shows how much Dean felt responsible for Sam’s safety and wellbeing. Dean didn’t even hesitate to make that deal.) Sam turned out to be so kind, listening, communicative, saw the good in others, intelligent, and got to live the exact life Dean would’ve wanted for him. I know Dean didn’t always show it, nor say it often, but he was so proud of Sam and what he overcame and who he became.
