I went from a size 2 to a size 12 during the pandemic and I suddenly disappeared. It was like men literally do not even see me as a human. Just air. Women give me disgusted looks sometimes if you could see my rolls/cellulite etc.

A few years ago, I suddenly put on a lot of weight because of PCOS (size 14-16 now, previously a size 6-8). The quality of men who started being attracted to me when fat was WAY better than men when I was smaller. Better in terms of convo skills, intelligence, home ownership, income, etc. When I was a size 6, I always attracted insecure men who needed to control me in weird ways.

I think a lot of straight men are concerned about the social capital that their partner will bring to the table. I’ve seen many men marry women they weren’t compatible with simply bc their friends, family, or society would deem them “hot”.

In my experience, when I lost weight I definitely got more guys who were interested, but the quality of men went down. So the percentage of those guys who I’m actually interested in went down a lot too

Lost 100lbs I think people in general respect me more and see me as more worthy? Guys before were never interested in anything serious with me. Most of the time they could be rude or even disrespectful at times because they didn’t value me. Being in smaller or in a more conventionally attractive body has made others particularly men treat me better. It is nice to experience but overall it’s pretty bittersweet. I know how much your appearance affects your social life. People I meet now would have treated me differently when I was heavier.

I was a 22 at my heaviest, now im a 14. i think when i was much bigger i was clearly everyone who approached me's TYPE. where now, some people who are "open" to dating me are compromising by being with someone a bit heavier than they're used to.
