@blindishlatina: What team are YOU on? 👀 I choose ramps every time. While this ramp was not the ideal one due to being made of wooden boards with small gaps instead of a smooth continuous surface, I will still choose it over stairs. Using stairs is stressful and inaccessible for me as a blind women with less than 10 degrees of vision. Going down stairs is even harder than going up stairs due to my depth perception issues giving me a hard time distinguishing the end of each step from the next one. Accessibility is a mix of so many things like physical infrastructure, digital accessibility, and experiential accessibility. We might take ramps for granted in the United States, but I don’t always have them available when I travel so I remain grateful for any ramp I see. Do you use ramps or stairs? 🤔 Text on screen: POV: You’re Team Ramp, not Team Stairs. ✅ This is a boardwalk ramp by the beach in Chile. A fab accessibility win! Video Description: Catarina is a light-skinned Latiné woman with dark brown wavy hair wearing a large brim white hat, khaki button-up shirt, olive green pants, colorful sandals, sunglasses, and a colorful @cotopaxi fanny pack. She’s walking down wooden boardwalk ramps with her white cane and there are stairs next to her. Behind her is a bright blue sky, palm trees, green plants, and tall buildings. The video was filmed in Chile. White text with a black border appears on screen. Instrumental boppy hip hop music plays background. #Disability #AccessibleTravel #AccessibleTourism #DisabilityAwareness #Blindness
