I did a beginner adults ballet class and they the teacher was just like we're gonna do the blah blah blah routine and would put the music on they'd all go and I cried and the girls said they'd actually been there for 2 years "beginner" 😪

It’s so demoralizing sometimes. And it’s not that I’m upset people can dance better than me but I need the teacher to actually teach dance not choreography!! I’m still traumatized from my last attempt and yet I so want to learn 🥺

What I have learned in adult dance is that a beginner class could have someone who is brand new right next to someone who has been taking that class for years lol. And intro classes are usually the actual beginner class

They might just learn fast- the main thing I noticed is your stuck in your box (imagine a square around you on the floor) you have to move out of your comfort zone and move more 😭 idk how to explain it

girl I've been dancing for like 3 years now and everytime we learn a new choreo i feel like it's the first dance class of my life haha. never judge yourself by the first class. Even just a few classes later you'll already start feeling so much more confident and comfortable!

Take Coby’s classes at MDC. He teaches intermediate choreo but at a beginner pace, and usually teaches the same combo 2x so you can practice! Great for beginners (-from a previous MDC certificate program member)
