As the Russian native speaker I would like to clarify two things: 1 nobody is calling knee as “zveno”, “zveno” is having same meaning as knee only in one particular case: when we are talking about generations of the family,. So the right translation of word Knee would be “koleno”. 2. Govjad is an old-Slavic word that is now not used in Russian as the cow anymore. In modern Russian cow is “korova”. The variation of govjad (or whatever it is) that is still using in Russian in govjadina which can be translated as beef (It's the same situation as in English))

Dude, there is no Indo-European root because this language simply never existed. A construct of the last 209 years. The mother of languages is Greek.

So, I’ve learned today that αρμέγω (αμέλγω in Ancient Greek) is a cognate with milk. Γάλα seems related to Hebrew chaláv / Arabic ḥalīb)

I love that you included Lithuanian 🥰 however, mother would be motina or mama, moteris is more like a woman. Also, tear in Lithuania is ašara, pronounced as “ashara” :)

riccardoprudentin :
Just a note: in Latin milk is "lac, lactis" (and in fact in Italian, as you all know, we say "latte"). "mulgeo" refers to the verb "to milk" (mungere in Italian) in any case I had never noticed that "milk" and "mulgeo" had the same root!
