it’s because we’re largely a Protestant country 7 day candles and novena candles started in catholic tradition from there they made their way into Brujeria and Stregheria and from there into the new age and witchcraft movement. If you’re in Melbourne Elfhame and Spell Box both sell 7day candles and they have online stores you can order from.

I think artisan candle making has a lot to answer for. I love chime/spell candles for rituals, but even those are ridiculously priced and on limited supply and range.

Most Australian stores will buy wholesale and they're mainly imported in. At a minimum of $5-$10 per candle (with a the criteria of a minimum spend or minimum bulk amount) plus the added shipping cost then average cost will be above $25. There isn't really a "local" candle making business that caters to making 7 day glass jar candles in bulk and when you find one they cost just as much as buying them wholesale from O/S. Even church supply places are selling them wholesale for $7-$10 each. As a person who ran a store, believe when I say I tried to cater to the demand and budget of potential customers.

Ive started making my own again. Joined the candlemaking groups and wow jar candles everywhere at the highest prices and the technique and ingredient elitism.

I spent Ostara in Kerry Ireland and paid €6.95 ($12 AUD) for a pack of 10 chime candles🕯which i pay $6.95 here in Australia for the same ones. And in some places they were €8+

Yes 😭 I get most of mine from shiploads & reject shop but even then it’s expensive and you can never get the 7 day candles ! 😭

I totally agree with you. It's hard, very hard to find what's needed for spell work. It's ridiculous. Buying candles from overseas....don't get me started on the shipping costs. I've been storing the glass from the 7 day candles I've bought to eventually make my own. I've been searching for the glass to make 7 day candles as well, can't find them either.

I get mine from kmart for $8 I light it when I wake up blow it out at bed. It lasts me 2 weeks. Its my protection candle

I found 7 day candles in SPUD SHED of all places!!! if you're in WA go have a look. they had them in stock last time I went in a few weeks ago. not too pricey either. but I do agree with you. hard to find stuff and pricing is generally insane
