@carindustryanalys: The Chinese car market has more than 100 different local brands. Many of them play a minor role as regional ones with very low volumes. Others have big expansion plans outside China, but not all of them have successfully achieved it. This is a chart I prepared with all the passenger cars available as of September 2025. It shows the different positioning of each one of them according to their lineup, price range, and the public’s perception. Basically, China is targeting all segments now. It started as low-quality cheap copy-cats but now under the Chinese government plans, these car manufacturers are expanding their presence to very top of the market. It is a reminder to the premium and luxury car brands from the West that China won’t stop at the mainstream segments.
