That last point is key! And I'd even argue beauty can't be looked at in a linear sense at all. There's a lot of cultural context to what's considered beautiful, e.g. an "LA 10" vs. a "Miami 10." And that doesn't even factor in personal preference!

It’s still a game. The casino will almost always win and in this analogy the casino is society deciding that 21 with these cards is the best hand. They set the rules. And as soon as you are no longer playing the game (I am OK with my gray hair or I really like my non-western nose or hooded eyes or whatever TikTok is on about this week) you are completely devalued. Advertisers want you to have an unattainable ideal because that’s what sells products.

Everything in moderation and factoring the total “look”. I’m noticing in this current age people over focus on one or 3 things to fix and then mess up their whole appearance. Too big lips, a fixed nose but now too small, white teeth but whiter than snow too glaring.
