Why would the state of FL let you order a new license online if your license is suspended? This kinda seems like a combination of misunderstanding and/or ignorance on the part of the citizen, and something dumb or glitchy on the part of the state. What’s the point of charging someone $20-30 (plus shipping and handling) to send them a suspended license? Maybe things are different there, but in GA, you can purchase an ID through the DMV (either online or in person), and it looks just like a driver’s license, but does not afford you driving privileges. So if that part is the same, I fail to see why it makes a lick of sense to let somebody pay for a driver’s license that is suspended. Maybe part of this falls on the laziness of automating everything, letting computers take care of business instead of people.
