I know these are considered an annual, I’m also zone 9 and seems like most things are perennial for us. Did these comeback in spring?

Could you do a calendar of what to plant thr seed and when it will bloom for the higher zones. I'm in Zone 10A and I never know when its the best time for me. I always want a lot of heavy blooming flowers but struggle to find things that do in my area.

StiffLettuce :
Lots of plants know how to tell time with the help of special photoreceptive proteins called phytochrome! In cannabis, theres phytochrome red and phytochrome blue that the plant uses to detect the concentration of infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths. Because of the axial tilt of the earth, you get higher concentrations of far red light towards the end of the growing season, and higher concentrations of far blue light in the peak/onset of the growing season. By checking the values against eachother, the plant gets an estimate on how far along into the growing season its in so it can best decide when to flower and die back so the next generation can take the reigns. Its super neat stuff! Who knew plants could tell time? And of course this stuff happens automatically in the plant, its not what we would think of as "conscious action," but still very cool!
