if you plastic weld then you need to use a hot air welding gun as used by vinyl floor layers

this is my attempt as a DIYer of putting a slate and polycarb roof on my oak gazebo. it's still a work in progress. needs finishing 👍🏾

there are dedicated plastic welders that feed the plastic to the iron at the end of them from a spool. they use both the iron and a blower at the same time. i was doing metal fab at a salmon hatchery and they weld all the tanks and alot of the pipes with those. polyethylene in that case but they said they can even do glass fiber reinforced Nylon (PA6GF) neat looking welds too. 🙏 probably overkill for an occasional gazzebo top though lol

could you not cut a strip from a tile and chamfer the edges and stick that to it with black silicone? 🤷🏾♂️but what do I know I'm just a DIYer. 👍🏾
