Amex hotel credit is a scam. Booking hotel in Chicago. All of the listed rates on the Amex travel site are basically DOUBLE the rate on hotel website. For instance the Waldorf Astoria on Amex site is $1375. On Hilton.con it’s $725 So let’s do the math. $1365 - $300 -100- free breakfast let’s say another $100 so I am paying an extra $100 when using my Amex credit. And this is just for one night stay. For tie might stay using Amex costs and extra $850. What am I missing. This seems like a straight up scam

FYI- I purchased tickets to a tasting dinner for a Resy restaurant, through Resy itself, and it didn’t trigger the credit. So even though that money I spent goes to the restaurant, the $100 credit wasn’t given
