Why speak mostly about side/after effect due to chemo? I didn’t have chemo “just” radiotheraphy and have lots of after effects.

I was just telling my son about this today. I will never be the same. My body will never be the same. Treatment ends but the drugs dont end for a long time. Hormone blockers and target therapy continues.

I am a cancer survivor declared NED August 25th my biggest thing I wish people knew that cancer free doesn’t mean cured there is still a risk of it coming back and it doesn’t mean treatment stops completely

I’m not on chemo I’m on maintenance but in a short period of 2 yrs my body has changed, my skin has changed, the pain is excruciating and no longer independent. Knowing I can’t work anymore kills me… my whole life has changed

I definitely agree with everything you are saying. I feel just like that. People constantly saying you look so good. But they don’t know what I’m doing every month Lab Work and injections.

The ptsd From having cancer at 25 is so bad. Even 20 years later to think about it just brings me to tears. Life altering at a young age just when life was starting. Never got to be the real me, just the me after cancer.

I am almost done with my Her2 treatment. One more infusion to go, and another surgery in a couple months. I will always be looking over my shoulder, fearing that cancer will come back. All aches and pains, I fear it could be cancer..
