As a veteran tech of 27 yrs i prefer flat rate over hrly. And we do not have teams. Thank god. No one else even comes close to the hrs i turn.

I did the flat rate thing for several years and it was often a struggle. Whatever happened to going to work and your employer expecting you to be at work for eight hours, but decides to only pay you when they can only get work in the shop? On top of thatwe are all expected to supply the shop with the hand tools to make their customers cars repaired as best we can.
