WMIS_22 :
the key is balance. if you lean on the traditional creed too much, you risk saying that Allah SWT wa AWJ have a literal and physical hand like those in creation. if you follow ilm Kalam too much then you risk straight up denying Allah's attributes or fall into the fallacies of human logic and the human mind. personally, I prefer the method of "ta'wil bila kayf" (that's the Arabic term if I'm not mistaken), which is interpreting without questioning how. it's by far the safest way you can go with. for example, I know that Allah has a hand, but fitting of his majesty, divinity and uniqueness, not like the hands of creation. even though I don't personally follow Ash'aris or Maturidis but it's straight up divisive to exclude them outside the fold of Ahlu Sunnah wal Jamaah. also, Kalam theology was developed as a way to defend Islam from being preyed on by Greek philosophy, specifically their metaphysics. I'm not saying that the original creed was insufficient, just that having answers can reassure the faith of the Muslims at the time when new questions were being asked following the introduction of Greek philosophy and metaphysics like I've mentioned. remember, our beloved prophet SAW and our lord always pressed- unity of the believers above all else. (surah Al hujurat, verse 10) here's a verse as proof for y'all, there's plenty more but I'll give an example. as long as both parties don't fall into each other's respective extremes, we're ALL Muslims. STOP DIVISIVE SECTARIANISM, EMBRACE ISLAMIC UNITY. jazakallahu khairan for taking your time to read my comment.
