@kurata.adamo: Maybe this is a dumb question because the denim will eventually fade a bit anyways, but I’m also referring to the process of handwashing denim to develop high-contrasting fades. I’ve heard if you just throw them in the washing machine they’ll fade more uniformly like regular pants. Also not planning to wear these as consistently as I would my raw denim to get those fades in. Lmk yalls thoughts in the comments #fyp #fashiontok #selvedgedenim #denimhead
Probably around 150~ wears + machine washed once of my OrSlow one wash denim and can say there’s not tooo much high contrast fading as of yet. Only in high wear areas ie phone + wallet pockets. Still happy w the journey! But def gonna grab a raw pair soon to try and get some fades

fade can depend based on the weight/ounce. Mine are a 12 Oz and they are HARD to fade. mine are a pretty slim straight but if yourse are a looser fit it will also be harder to fade witch is good in your case. Exuse my spelling and hope it helps. 🙏

you def don’t have to fade them and you can use a special detergent to try and keep as much dye as possible

just don’t wear them over and over again you’ll be fine, it’s not that easy to fade denim

You most likely wont get any deep fades on those for a while because they’re so loose. They’ll sun fade tho.

All rope-dyed raw denim will fade because the yarn isn’t dyed all the way through, washing and not washing only changes the contrast. If you want it to fade as little as possible, buy hank-dyed raw denim (it’s dyed through the whole yarn).

its harder to fade denim than people make you think. use a brush to brush off dirt and grime, and basically dont wash them and they should stay that color for a while. if it’s the contrast fading you dont want, you can wash them more frequently to prevent dirt build up and they’ll fade evenly but with less contrast

the frequency that you was them is what will give you more even vs high contrast fade. technically speaking, vintage fades require more work because you're washing more /1

technically raws will all fade eventually. the more you wash the more indigo will come off (along with the more you wear them). you can preserve the iindigo longer if you turn it inside out during wash and minimize agitation.

I’d rather just let the fades happen naturally instead of doing extra work to get stronger fades. I also really just like the original look, so even if they take a long time to fade I don’t really care

I think contrast fading has its charm, but me personally, im over that phase now so i just wear whenever and wash whenever whether it’s raw or one wash. And no, one wash denim can still achieve some contrast fadings.

They’ll fade no matter what. If you wash them more often it’ll be more overall faded, but less contrast. Waiting longer will keep them darker overall longer, but the parts that do fade will be higher contrast

Personally I prefer the fades of my STF’s than my left fields. Raw denim also just fades waaaay faster. Both are fun of course, as they say- it’s all about the ✨journey✨
