Ok, I've had this question a while. Why don't we use something like this to pull the heat from the engine well and turn it into electricity. I just remember hearing that the amount of power created by an engine is 90 heat. Why don't we take advantage of that heat to make usable energy? Is it just not worth the price ? Idk just something I've thought about for years.😕

I can confirm that the air behind the seat gets incredibly hot. I had to stop using mine because my kids always complained.

Ford does/did the same. Most vehicles that have “cooled” seats have ventilated seats not actually cooled seats. Fords and GM’s that have the snowflake icon or say A/C on the seat button are these thermoelectric device setup for heating/cooling the seats not just a fan for airflow only

those things are actually really baller. you can also generate electricity from them by applying heat or cool to one side versus the other

Technology Connections did a really in depth video about these on YouTube. He reviewed there use in those cheap desk mini fridges that can only fit 6 cans

I think those are used for the heated/cooled cup holders in my Chrysler 300. Drawing a lot of current would explain why they'll only work with the car running, not with accessory power on.

They use those in the little refrigerators that will hold a six pack of can drinks. They use more energy than a real small refrigerator that actually cools below 40 degrees. If I remember correctly the cold side can only cool to about 30 degrees below ambient temperature
