As a Deaf mom with a hearing daughter, it’s incredibly important to teach her sign language for numerous reasons. Firstly, sign language enables us to communicate effectively and intimately, bridging any potential language barriers that may arise. By learning sign language, my daughter not only gains a valuable skill for communicating with me but also becomes more inclusive and empathetic towards diverse forms of communication and people. Additionally, sign language fosters a unique bond between us, enriching our relationship and deepening our understanding of each other’s experiences and perspectives. Moreover, equipping my daughter with sign language empowers her to navigate various social situations more confidently and to embrace the richness of linguistic diversity in our world. Ultimately, teaching my hearing daughter sign language is not just about communication; it’s about fostering connection, empathy, and inclusivity within our family and beyond. 🤍 #CODA #deafparents #deafmom #fyp #toddlersoftiktok #toddler #toddlermom #MomsofTikTok #momtok #momlife #deafcommunity #deafawareness #deafcultureismyculturetoo Video id: A white woman sits down with her daughter, showing all flashcards containing words and pictures and her daughter signs back
