I used to keep every card too but it was so hard to store. So I scanned all the fronts and insides in to a file on my computer. So I have the nice things said/handwriting of my loved ones, and I could throw them away without feeling guilty!!

I had a steamer trunk that my mom and dad got me for my 16th birthday. I had it until late last year when I sold it. I still regret not keeping it

Suggestion - Get a $100 scanner to scan and save stuff digitally. Offer all the things you are saving for the kids and accept how much they don't want it. Sorry.

I think i did the same with sympathy cards I received. if they had a note or from close friends I kept them. may need to do a 2nd purge.

Refurbish the cards. Cut in half and use the front backside to send special notes or thank you notes.

This is what gets me. I'm so sentimental. My dad passed when I was 20. My mom passed during the covid pandemic. I've still not gone through some of mom's things. You're awesome.
