Patients may need this procedure for issues like: • Ankle instability • Chronic ankle pain or swelling • Cartilage damage • Loose bone or cartilage fragments • Impingement (when soft tissues or bone pinch during movement) The surgery itself typically takes about 15–30 minutes, and recovery time varies depending on what’s treated — but many patients are back to normal activity within a few weeks to a few months.
