I ghosted my therapist unintentionally because I started a new job and just got so wrapped up and busy with life (was doing way better mentally and didn’t NEED weekly sessions anymore) and I always feel so bad I didn’t ever say goodbye or thank you and now it’s been like 5 years but I think about her a lot and am so thankful for everything she helped me through.

If they abruptly terminate a client like right before session. And close it right after is that normal?

I love this honestly. I went to a therapist for a full year, but I didn’t realize until two sessions later that I had reached my insurance limit. Those two sessions cost me over $200, while with insurance they had only been $15. I obviously couldn’t afford to keep paying that, so after a year I had to ghost my therapist. What made it worse was that I never heard a single word from my therapist herself—I only kept getting emails and calls about my balance. Not hearing from her directly definitely didn’t help with the very problems I had been going to her for in the first place

Sorry if its a stupid question, 😅 and I know it may vary for different places. How does therapy work. ? like how do you go about starting therapy after choosing the right therapist. ? Is it a case of having sessions when and if needed or is it regular sessions (Every week). Then how does payment work, Do I pay for each session separately. ? (The info on their websites are confusing) 😅🥰
