I do think it’s worth noting The Pokemon Company is the major stakeholder of the Pokemon brand, not Nintendo. Nintendo has partial ownership but it’s mostly TPC itself that needs to take legal action.

Nintendo sued a small convenience store in a small town in Costa Rica for using the name "Super Mario". "Super" is popular there to refer to small supermarkets or convenience stores and the owner's name was Jose Mario. hence the store name. You'd be happy to learn that the store won the battle. If you ever drive by San Ramón pay Super Mario a visit, they have the best mangoes 🥭 Nintendo choosing not to go the legal route to defend their trademark in this instance speaks volumes
