Walimah, Nikah, KK Planning? It is not permissible to please people by doing something that angers Allah ‎ﷻ. The scholars have mentioned that it is HARAM, FORBIDDEN, to attend the wedding in which evil is found like free mixing and music etc. The only exception is for someone that can stop the evil. Then it is obligatory for him to attend to stop it. Wallahi, this does not come into breaking ties of kinship if you do not attend these weddings or gatherings. Even if the majority of people do an action, this does not give it validity in Islam! Even if it was your own sons wedding, by Allah, you are sinful to attend if you know there will be evil in it, like music and free mixing, unless you attend to remove the evil. These are Haram gatherings. Yes, it is a black and white issue that is crystal clear to the people of knowledge. What upsets me the most is that some good people attend these functions out of the “keeping ties” and “accepting the invitations.” If the good Muslims do not show that they are not okay with this, and do not show a detachment from the gatherings of evil, then how will anyone learn? I ask Allah ‎ﷻ to allow the students of knowledge in truth, to not perform the Nikah ceremonies in any wedding that is based on Haram. The Prophet ‎Muhammad ‎ﷺ said: Whoever introduces an evil practice that is followed after him, will bear the burden of sin for that and the equivalent of their burden of sin, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest. As for Anasheed with duff, completely permissible for weddings. Your Islam is your everyday! Your highs, your lows, your normals and your celebrations. At work and at home. You are a Muslim!
