@yellowtuxjesse: It’s better to disrupt yourself before someone else does. When we were in a league and played traditional baseball we were selling out every game and the business model was great. But we saw fans were leaving early and we saw that there were still parts of the game that were too slow, too long and too boring. So we made the leap to Banana Ball. There were no fans telling us this was the right move. We didn’t do any surveys. But we believed that a faster more entertaining game would be best for fans. So we went for it. It was messy in the beginning as we tried to figure out the rules of the game and make it work. But you have to get through the messy to get to the great. Each show got better and we kept experimenting with new teams and new venues. Now we are disrupting ourselves again to stop playing exhibition games and launch the Banana Ball Championship League. This is certainly not what fans expected as we get compared to the Harlem Globetrotters. But again, we believed that competitive Banana Ball will be an even better experience for fans...so we will make the leap again.
