@carleighmadden: As a white woman, I want to acknowledge white supremacy and talk to other white people about it. I do feel like it is my responsibility to have these conversations and confront reality, publicly and privately. I do feel it is a part of my journey of life as a white person, to take accountability and ownership of our history of violence, and speak up for change. I do believe it is my responsibility to try to use my privilege to make the world a better place. I believe the work starts with each of us internally, and then for us to hold each other accountable, rather than continuing to avoid responsibility and blame our problems on anyone/everyone else.
