@once.upon.a.tiny: The garden always finds a way to teach you something. This spring I planted “State Fair Winner” pumpkin seeds to try and grow a massive pumpkin. I started them early this spring indoors and planted them outside early May. What happened is the spot I chose to plant these pumpkins in was a poor location with not enough sunlight. They eventually died from disease. The pumpkin I’m holding in this video I did not plant. These were from pumpkin seeds from pumpkins I’d fed my chickens last fall. They self seeded in the soil and sprouted a massive vine that took up half our yard. This is just one of the many pumpkins that vine has produced that we didn’t even plant! Moral of the story, good location for planting is super important, and without that, no matter how much planning you put into growing a certain crop, you won’t get the results you want if you choose the wrong location! #gardentok #pumpkins #homesteading #Gardening #TikTokLearningCampaign
