It’s not just newsom, the Democratic Party has a stranglehold on California politics, with that comes the environmental groups that stop all development and new housing, both newsom and the governor of Hawaii have attempted to push back on this in the past few years to try and build more houses

I agree. California has no reason to be more expensive than Australia, Canada, Japan, and Nordic countries (safe countries with universal HC and maybe free university and it still manages to be cheaper) . California is just a extremely expensive Mexico 😭.
