Don’t tell them nothing make an escrow account put your rent money in that account go to the health department if they filed eviction when you go to court you have proof take all medical documents as well

1. You need to read your lease because im almost positive you can’t withhold rent due to negligence in GA. 2. The escrow thing doesn’t apply here in GA. 3. If you take any water/liquid and leave it sitting.. mold is going to grow. So that will be there argument. 4. If ur already getting evicted, you are gonna have that remainder on your credit regardless. Suing them won’t change that. 5. Code enforcement takes forever & unless you have mold on your walls… theyre not coming. Been there. Done that.

Make sure you’re still saving your rent. It’s still owed and an eviction will still be on your credit report. That mold is crazy. Landlords need to be held accountable.

I just went through the same thing, you have to print the pictures out and take them to court. They’ll dismiss the eviction case but you’ll have to sue them through civil court. Georgia don’t have a law to enforce landlords to do anything about mold, you’ll have to take them to court! I’m literally dealing with that right now but i had to move out because ALL my belongings was getting damaged with mold!

Call code enforcement! For tell them EVERYTHING once they come out whatever they see that’s out of code as soon as they get out their vehicle the office will get fined $1000 per violation if they don’t fix it in 30days

As a leasing agent we see it all the time ..first you’d need to have them come out and do testing and remediation. By law they have a certain time to treat for certain molds..now the test will be null and void bc all homes epesicslly near water have mold spores especially in tight spaces now the type of mold varies(some deadly others not) especially in humid areas it’s required to do cleanings (which they should offer) and inspections quarterly ! Hope this helps let them know you’ll put in escrow if they don’t come out to treat.

put rent in escrow and send them a message asking that they address your concerns or you’ll be forced to call the health dept. I live in MD and there’s an apartment complex here paying 11m to tenants because of things like this
