She immediately gave me the food out of her bag. She said her name was Adrianne. When I spoke with her more and she told me she's been homeless for the past 2 ½ years and has been staying in a motel. Adrianne works three jobs. Every morning from 7:30 to 2, she helps kids in a special education classroom. From 3 to 6, she’s at an after-school program with elementary students and evenings she cares for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes. Despite her work, sometimes between paychecks, she doesn’t even have enough for a motel room. On those nights she packs up her dog and cat, and her adult son and sleeps in her car at a park. Recently, Adrianne's car was repossessed after she fell behind on two payments. Now she has no way to get herself to her jobs. Friends and her daughter are helping give her rides. She dreams of having an affordable apartment and a reliable car again. I believe we can come together and show Adrianne the love of God. Every dollar raised will help her get back on her feet. So I say let’s surround Adrianne with love and give her the stability she deserves.
