@thisdayinwwi: This 1917 newsreel footage, IWM IWM 772, shows soldiers of the Ottoman Empire in traditional uniforms on parade during the German Emperor's visit to the Ottoman Empire. Photos from the same trip were taken on Oct 15 1917. Some of the soldiers are wearing traditional uniforms of Ottoman Janissaries.
