You also have to remember 50 shades was a twilight fan fic originally. A lot of people think it’s supposed to be “the modern secretary” when in all reality it was just a “what if Edward wasn’t a vampire and was a loaded rich CEO with some pretty vanilla kinks” kind of story.

50 shades cannot hide the fact that its fan fiction. Its evident bc everything is too perfect, too much of a specific fantasy. Ultra rich guy, perfect job, perfect apartment. While the secretary is a human story that could very much happen in real life, its not the specific fantasy of the writer, you can relate to all characters bc they are human.
