I’m in this process right now. 40 acres hopefully 100 more to come. Hoping to establish a small sustainable business (native nursery?) for solvency. Trails and retreat cabins. Interested? Do you meditate?

the sadest part is it takes a forest.
small non adjoining native patches just isn't enuff to sustain our ecosystem.
🙃 its failing in nearly every aspect that is life. im afraid the damage from human greed will never be repaired. worst bit it corporate act like we can just go buy another earth😉😆

I do feel the same and I have bought the land and look after it and grow things and forage and feast with my beautiful fur babies - it’s the most awsome way to live

Look into Young Agrarians. They match land seekers with land owners. I’m working with a land matcher for a property on either Salt Spring or Mayne Island

You lost me at coffee. Between 2001–2015 nearly 2 million hectares of forest were replaced by coffee (about 0.8 Mha arabica, 1.1 Mha robusta), with hotspots in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Indonesia and Vietnam. That’s a direct pulse of CO₂ from land clearing and a long-term loss of carbon storage.

This should be everyone’s dream. Also have a large garden to grow your own food. There should be even a government grant for this. Keep dreaming. You can make it happen!

I'm doing that with my little 1 acre lot. planted dozens of native trees and plants. my focus is food for wildlife (and sometimes me) and restoring the soil quality. it is such rewarding work 😊
