I thought the theory was it was originally a statue of a lion. Much later the head was reshaped to the pharaoh’s head, which explains the scale discrepancy between the body and the head

No the nose fell off when the sculpture was distracted by Aladdin and Jasmine flying by on the magic carpet! It’s literally on video.

False: the sphinx was actually discovered by ancient Egyptians. It was already there. The face is not symmetrical to the rest of the body. There’s also water erosion along the legs, pointing out that water once surrounded it at some point in time. No one knows who truly built it.
