when I learned that people were, en masse, betting on random stuff in their daily lives, I remembered that those at the top of sports betting are algorithm/math nerds, always, and I got worried this was another mass transfer of wealth. It is. Investing in these types of companies would probably make you good money.

Given that the closed caption information is the actual character data that is rendered by your device (not image data), you could probably be even faster if you find a way to tap into the raw signal and extract the characters from it instead of doing OCR.
