Don't forget the British Troops gave her Worcestershire sauce as well as Ketchup & the Spices, as getting curry powder in Germany in 1949 was not only difficult but expensive even if you could buy it. So really it's a British meal once the chips were added too. No wonder most of those stationed in Germany loved Currywurst, Fries & Mayo, allvthanks to British Soldiers & Herta Heuwer. I still make it at home, using Herta Currywurst sauce.
