they have it in france. lived here 10 years. never caused anyone issues. both my parents have one. its great for getting into the system and if you get pulled over they just look at it and its good. its not too bad tbh

It’ll mean no forms to fill in because it can be scanned at the doctors etc if they go the full way like Estonia. Most of also already have an ID so this will just be a digital version and there will be something else for those that don’t have any id

Most people are supportive of digital ID in recent polling. ID cards projected to cut benefit fraud by £1.25 billion - fraud costs the Exchequer more than £7 billion a year. Also forecast to collect £0.6 billion in extra tax revenue each year, by linking taxpayer data. Much more efficient for government and for us. Win-win. 👍
