When they first showed how did you know they weren’t just normal bruises? My daughter is constantly covered in bruises but she’s extremely clumsy as well so I tend to brush it off but sometimes it feels off for her to have so many.

I found out my oldest daughter had ITP 2 years ago.. nothing helped her count go up.. after a year we decided to have her spleen removed and it brought it back up but still has time to time low count. very scary forsure!!! keep pushing love!!

My son had this at 6 months and his platelets have been fine ever since he got the IVIG it’s definitely so scary! You’re an amazing mom, and he is so lucky to have you 🩶

My daughter was hospitalized for it 4 years ago next month and I still press on every unknown ‘bruise’ to make sure it’s actually a bruise. Such a scary time

My son has this and still has it he’s had a platelet transfusion and ivig treatment and are next step is weekly meds for it

This happened to my son, started with uncontrollable nose bleeds followed by the bruising, I kept saying something is wrong, went down the google rabbit hole, took my son to pediatrician the next day, told his dr I think this is ITP, he immediately sent us to the children’s hospital ER, blood work showed he had no platelets, he was admitted for 3 days for IVIG treatment, followed by routine bloodwork for the next year to make sure his platelet levels stayed normal.

my son who's now 20. got it when he was 10 it is now chronic. while they have never been low enough for transfusions, we did have to treat him differently. no sports or things that could hit him in head or belly. then 6 months ago he was hit by a car doing 65 while he walked across a highway. he is fully healed and doing great. still has itp though

Why would a ton of random bruises be normal? That would send a signal to brain. Bc no matter what. It is not normal.

my wife's grandson had the same thing. cps and police got involved. finally found out he was dangerously low on plasma. had to have transfusions

I remeber those days all to well! Our daughter is a ITP fighter as well. She was diagnosed at the age of 3. She is now 12 and an amazing dancer who doesn’t let ITP define her. Some of the strongest kids I know are ITP warriors!

We had that happen with my son when hes was 13! Took him to check him they said it was a rash! My husband got loud and they found he had cancer that night! Always fight for your babies!
