you should not be allowed to take a test drive in anything other than a manual car that's how it is in Europe, that's how you actually learn how to drive and you need to actually be instructed beforehand by an instructor for 30h minimum before you qualify for the test.

Ok … stay with me here …. You are required to use brakes, mirrors, and know basic vehicle operation to be licensed. I know - it’s CRAZY!!! Now try to keep up here. Less than 10% of cars on the road are EV with regenerative brakes. MINDLOWING isn’t it?

If her daily is an EV, let her test be in a EV. If people have a problem with that, then have the driving school provide a test car. She is technically braking when she takes her foot off the pedal. I'd argue EVs brake better than ICE cars (generally) because you essentially have 2 mechanisms that bring the car to a stop.

Teslas are terrible vehicles to have to drive around - idgaf if it's the vehicle or the driver making them such a nuisance 😤 They're also extremely dangerous since the threshold for their brake lights to come on is WAY off of what it should be. So yeah, defective vehicle/equipment for daaaaays 😂

I had the 2014 Tesla did my test in 2016 with it and they didn’t like it because they never knew how to open the door 😂

Regen should be deactivated because she needs to prove proficiency driving any car not just Tesla. One day she will drive a non regen brake car.

took my test 3 years ago and they were adamant against using features like back up cameras and cruise control bc alot of cars still dont have them and they cant prove your only gonna ever drive this car so letting you onto the road without those skills being fully developed is dangerous

If she then gets in another car without regen, without providing proof she knows how to use the breaks correctly. Driving test should be based on the most basic car that you may drive.

I think the test is for testing basic driving knowledge so yes she should’ve turned off the extra features. Unless the car is fully autonomous (which at that point who would need a drivers license) you should know proper breaking, turning, etc Incase those features ever fail.
