I used to work in digital forensics and this is soooo important to listen to. This is so correct.

This and also your children are their own person not your property. If they cannot consent to being online then they shouldn’t be online.

I find schools posting on Facebook a huge risk as well

Yeah no one online is ever seeing my babies face.

Let’s say it all together ‘when you post a picture of your child online, that image has gone forever and is not in your control’ 👏

When I see videos on here of children and then see it has thousands of saves and all I can think is “not all of those people are saving it for innocent reasons” it’s scary.

Absolutely. Pregnant with my first baby and I feel so strongly about this, people think 200 is a small number due to the followings of some influencers but it's actually a HUGE number that you're giving access to your child's private moments.

You typically don’t find out that somebody is unsafe until they get caught

My Facebook feed is full of primary schools in other areas posting pictures of the kids in the classroom etc and I can’t figure out why that’s okay? Why does a Primary school need a public Facebook? Why don’t they realise how dangerous that could be?!

I will never understand this. You are not posing you physical baby, you are posting a picture?? Like let weirdos do whatever they want it will never ever actually physically affect your baby. I just don’t get it

It’s people who put pics of their kids up then blur the face. Don’t put it up in the first place.

Please also tick boxes for no social media at school or any clubs!! Never show your babies face.

It doesn't matter. As long as my child is physically safe then a picture is only that.

My partner works in cyber security. He’s already told us if we ever have kids, they are not being posted online. And I agree 100%

It’s so much simpler than that, why should you get to choose whether your child has an online presence? It’s for them to decide when they are old enough.

And also can we just think that children are humans? Hahaha I mean, they should be able to decide (once they can) if they want to be around on the internet. Like yeah you are the parent but you are not the kid.

I wouldn’t hand a picture to a stranger on the street for them to take it home to do what they want with. But that’s what we do sharing anything online.

I did a open study college course in PI and honestly have not posted my child online since and ask others not too either. It’s sad but we have to protect our babies😔
