@world..geo: I have traveled to 10 states during peak fall foliage over the years and here are 8 places you MUST visit once in your life during this time! (1) Letchworth state park 🚶🏼♂️No walk required here although you can hike to each viewpoint if you want to! Spots you need to see are Inspiration Point, Middle & Lower Falls overlook. (2) Lake Willoughby, Vermont 🚶🏼♂️Mount Pisgah trail (4.5 mile round trip) 🛶You can kayak the lake 🚙 or simply drive around the lake (3) Dixville notch, New Hampshire 🚶🏼♂️Table Rock Trail (1.5 mile round trip) (4) Blackwater falls state park 🚶🏼♂️ No long hike required. Access from the base and above that are just a short walk from the parking lot. (5) Dolly sods wilderness 🚙 This is such a unique spot to see fall colors in the Appalachian mountains. Up here the brush turns bright red at peak and there is no hiking required although you should do some! (6) Macafee knob, Virginia 🚶🏼♂️8 miles round trip (7) Sassafras mountain, South Carolina ⛰️ This is South Carolinas highest point at 3,566 feet above sea level and the summit is full of trees that all have beautiful colors during the fall. You can simply drive up here or hike to the summit which around 8 miles round trip. (8) Watkins Glen State Park 🚶🏼♂️2.2 mile round trip hike through the gorge
