I had lower abdomen pain, had a perforation in my colon, got hospitalized and intense antibiotics. I felt I was getting worse and asked for a CT scan. The male doctor argued with me, said it wasn’t necessary & i didn’t look like I was in that much pain. Turns out I had Colon Cancer. I’m glad I advocated for my self and fired that doctor from my care team

I had a 10 cm ovarian cyst that no doctor even bothered to check for till I finally realized it may be the issue and went to my gyno. Got diagnosed in 2 seconds. 🙄

Yes ma’am it happens so often! It’s why women need to be in leadership so that we can make sure that shit like this doesn’t happen and women need to own their power and when I say being leadership, I don’t mean that they have a Talking Heads that’s a woman that’s at a leadership position, but still acting like a man I mean, a woman who truly is an embodied humanwho wants to take care of other humans who’s gonna fight to see the data to talk to people to hear the experiences to find out and insure that those who are young or unable to speak for themselves any kind of way

I have another story about "not being able to stand up for myself in a hospital"... my brother and I were very sick and we had the same virus because we lived in the same room... so long story short we went to the hospital and we were visited separately (my school didn't let me leave early without my parents) but by the same doctor and he gave us some medicine and I ended up finding out that he gave my brother an strong pain killer... so I asked my brother "did you made a big deal out of this and said you have a lot of pain?" and he said "no he just said this virus makes your stomach hurt so you should take this when you're in pain" and he didn't prescribe me those pills and he didn't warn me about the pain neither cause he thought we'll she's a girl and she's used to having stomachache... (I was 14 then and haven't even got my period)

They are really painful. I was about 22 when it happened to me. I went to ER, they immediately did an ultrasound and poof I was in and out in a couple of hours…but of course we are in 🇨🇦 so no hospital bill either. I’m sorry you have to deal with all of this nonsense

I have a similar story also wound up with a 18k bill for them doing absolutely nothing for my cyst except tell me that I’ll be back when it ruptured 😳
