People forget that police officers vehicles have a big screen that is primarily lit up as well as a bunch of other lighting accessories inside the vehicle that give glare or feedback to your eyes constantly

If the person who called it in was so concerned, why didn't they stay standing there to point at the individual?

This is so flipping sad. The cop will never forget. And he's being portrayed as a villain.

Why didn’t the “concerned” citizen stand by the woman to make sure everyone can see her?

I highly doubt the officer is okay with this. Have some sympathy ppl. He went there to help and made a mistake. If only he were a human………

I had a Sgt hit a cow that he was dispatched to as being out in the road...in the exact place it was dispatched as being in. We give him shit about it to this day, and that was 8 years ago. 😂

It will be his fault, but it’s definitely an accident. He will be found at fault in the crash, no criminal charges but he and his department will probably be sued for wrongful death.

If a reg civilian would have struck her it would be called an accident. Same objective reasonableness should be applied to the officer. I wouldn’t think he would be acting in a reckless manner

He was pulling into an alleyway which was heavily obscured by vehicles parked on the roadway. She was laying accross the “skirt” entrance area directly obscured by one of said parked cars. Motivations are questionable but the narrative that she was intentionally in a place impossible to see by entering traffic is a reasonable arguement at this point. My opinion is that nothing that happened was criminal or even close to criminal. But that may not stop the very liberal DA from charging the cop. Time will tell.
