I think we also have a failure of directors coming from a basis and background removed of art. Like foundations in paying homage to not just good filmmakers and photographers but also painters and theatrical scenic design

I recently watched the first film, and there were so many scenes where stage lights were pointed directly at the camera. There were also multiple scenes where background characters are in the light while the main characters in the foreground are in shadow 💀

I genuinely think they could have cut back the marketing and brand tie lins (even though I know that they have to do all these to pay for the movie) but they could’ve cut back on all of that to actually light the damn movie
