He probably thought you died, so seeing him again he probably thought you abandoned him. Just take him and he'll warm up again. I did it before.

I had to leave my cat at my dads for over a year. It was devastating for both of us. She got depressed and would ignore me and literally turn away from me. They have feelings too. Give your cat time to adjust and try to play with them and feed them.

Is your cat actually sick? Because a cat doesn’t want to be picked up/held when they’re hurting. How is your cat eating and other behaviors? Like hiding a lot more? Different? My cat had urinary issues and did that to me too. 😃

Whenever I come back from a long trip my cat is always SO mad at me for leaving. Last time I came back she fully attacked me because she was so overstimulated with emotions. After a couples day it was all good tho

do you have any reminders of home you can bring with you for the cat? too many new things at once can be overwhelming, maybe try putting some away for now and slowly introducing them one by one!

He probably just needs more time to warm back up to you. I’m sure you can find people on here that have experienced something similar or know what to do in this situation. Hope for your cat is not lost!
