@agrotonomy: Vertical farming watermelons on aeroponic towers. We are growing seedless Onza watermelons, supported by Ace pollinator plants. It has been 54 days since transplanting (7 weeks and 5 days). Each fruit has been cradled in its own hammock to prevent damage and allow it to ripen evenly. A custom grow cage and hammocks make vertical watermelon farming possible: the cage guides the sprawling vines in an organized way, while the hammocks support the fruits safely until harvest. Since Onza watermelons is a triploid (seedless) variety, it cannot produce viable pollen on its own. That’s why we also plant a diploid pollinator variety (Ace watermelon) alongside it, ensuring proper pollination and reliable fruit set. Together, both varieties make seedless watermelon production possible. #watermelon #farming #agriculture #gardening #verticalfarming
